WEEK 12

Today, I went outside by myself to explore and discover the existing permaculture and spaces around the Sanctuary of Independent Media. First, I went to Freedom Square and discovered that there was an use of old bike tires to protect the plants and trees. Also, the fruits trees served as a food source for many community members when there was a concert at the square. Next, I went to the Collard City Growers’ garden and found many aspects of Permaculture. Some examples include car tires for protection, compost piles, a chicken pen, and plants for sharing. Lastly, I visited the new Sanctuary building that is yet to be renovated and the L lot behind the building. I noticed that there was a lot of free space that could serve as a space for other projects related to permaculture.
